The make-up of AnnaLee and the Lucky So and Sos draws from a diverse mix of musicians. Every member brings varied experiences and talents from years of performing in every venue imaginable—from opera houses to roadhouses.

The “Diva” of the band is AnnaLee. She brings a serious set of pipes to the table and delights in leading her Lucky So and Sos through a night of jump and jive. AnnaLee traversed the country for several years doing musical theater and finally found a home, and a band that loves her in the City of Fountains.

Bill Irvine, a home grown Kansas Citian and The Lucky So and Sos guitarist and leader, has been on the scene since the 70’s in such bands as Sirius and Plain Jane and most recently the Doghouse Band.

Another local is sax man Steve Smith, who brings an air of validity to the group, with a background that includes being a classically trained conductor along with being the leader of several vintage dance ensembles: the Radio Days Orchestra and the Sunflower Ragtime Orchestra.

Byron Jones is one of the foremost trumpeters on the music scene in Kansas City. Byron developed relationships with other players with whom he would record several CD projects. Most notably: Johnny Isom and the Receders, and The Bobby Carson Band. He is also featured on one track on vocalist Sherry Lawson’s CD, Alone, and one track on songwriter Rick Mareske’s CD, Outside Dawg. Additionally, Byron has been the trumpetista for Son Venezuela, a latin dance orchestra, since 1996. He has established himself as a major player in the Kansas City and brings the “sizzle” to the Lucky So and Sos.

The newest and yougest member of the group is pianist Ryan Howard. A graduate of the Paso Academy of Performing Arts, Ryan is one of the most "in demand" keyboard players in the city. He brings an understanding of the Kansas City swing style that is far beyond his years.

Drummer Bob Jolley joins David Firman on bass filling out the strong driving rhythm section. Firman has played and recorded with Ben Harper, Juice Newton, and The New Christy Minstrels. Some might remember Jolley as the drummer in numerous bands including The Wild Women of Kansas City and local hero, Tim Whitmer. Jolley also holds a degree from the UMKC Music Conservatory. And probably no one remembers David because he is an L.A./Seattle transplant.
